Is ChatGPT useful for support if the regular support isn't fast enough?

Let's assume some software on my server crashed and I need emergency help to find out why and how to fix it, would ChatGPT or other AI chats be a good alternative for such support compared to human support?

You will generally not get support with such tasks as it's out of the scope of human support.

That said, as long as your server is up and running, and you're able to access it, AI chats can generally be very helpful in explaining errors and to give advice on how to fix common problems or various configurations to prevent issues from occurring again. At least with older and well documented software.

If you know what you're doing, it could provide some additional help. But don't blindly trust whatever it outputs to work as you expect, always check the code and verify that it is correct.

Un-managed with root access means that you're on your own as soon as you've connected into your server. AI chats can be very helpful in such situations, just like search engines. As long as you know how to describe your problem properly.
