I'm thinking in the political spectrum and in peoples minds mostly, I've haven't seen any company changing their privacy policy recently or attempting to infringe anyone's privacy recently. But here's the thing, have you also noticed more of this " I have nothing to hide " mentality? or that people in general literally demand more government control and less freedom for everyone, either directly or indirectly? Some examples: People no longer want cash, because it can " spread the virus ", but what does the credit/debit card do when you put it in the terminal... there's physical contact there too Illegal to meetup, alright I get it, it makes sense. But, let's just hear me out for a while, people are not allowed to demonstrate because of this, how's that for democracy Illegal to spread " fake news ", there used to be a debate about free speech when someone mentioned " fake news " now people just seems to accept it.

It's hard to tell without having all the information on the table, so to speak. But yes, I've met some of these "I have nothing to hide" people, but I've seen them before covid-19 too.

Something more worrying would be the earn it act, over in the US which is essentially a ban on encryption. Any idea what happened to that? I guess we'll have to wait and see what the future has to offer, but one thing is sure. People not caring enough about privacy and to protect their personal integrity is a threat to the society as we know it.
