How does the up-front payment feature work

Just found the up-front payment feature with discount, but how does it work? what are the rules? Can I cancel such subscription, and what happens when the time runs out?

It's a subscription feature, just like the name suggests. Pay up-front, with no refund in order to get up to 20% discount. The discount applies during the whole lifetime of the server, just like prices will always be the same for already existing resources. However, as mentioned earlier, there are no refunds if you remove the server before the time runs out.

Up-front paid servers will also not be removed if your account runs out of funds, during the reserved period. Hence beside the discount it also brings predictability and protection.

commit in the api, is that the same as up-front hidden on the creation page? so it's the rate that decides the discount, i.e 730 hours = 1 month = 5% discount or whatever the rate is?

Orson_Deforest Yes, that's exactly what it is, if you wanna find the rates you can right click and choose inspect at https://dash.99stack.com on the commit field, look for the value property of the select input field. I believe those are the exact values that will grant you a discount. For reference:

1% 1 month
2% 3 months
3% 6 months
5% 9 months
10% 1 year
15% 3 years
20% 5 years

That's better than most competitors with similar performance.
